This website hack will let you buy unused gift cards at almost 50% discounts
Every once in a while I clean out my wallet. There are usually some random gift cards in there that I barely use or never use. You know, like, a gift card for a yogurt place that you won in a raffle but the nearest yogurt place is like, twenty miles away. Or your grandma gave you a gift card to Abercrombie and Fitch and you never had the heart to tell her that you’re almost 30 and would be embarrassed to even go near an A+F.
Whatever the case, unused gift cards are an EPIDEMIC. Jk, but seriously, people get gift cards and don’t use them all the time.
However, unused gift cards are sold on this website called Raise.com at discounted rates. You can get a $100 Forever 21 gift card for $70. You can get a $100 Claires gift card for $61 dollars. Why you would want $100 to spend at Claire’s is neither here nor there, but the fact that it is so cheap is the important part!
Basically, this site collects gift cards and then sells them to you, the user, for cheaper than the face value price. It claims to be 100% legit and says all “gift cards on our marketplace are provided by verified sellers. All orders are covered by our 100 Day Money-Back Guarantee.”
You can search for gift cards by sorting by percentage of discount. Currently, the maximum discount on some cards is 50% off.
Or search by brand. I searched for “Sephora” and filtered that by discount, or you could also filter by value or sale price. Currently, the maximum discount on a Sephora card is a 7.3% discount.
This site is helpful for places you know you shop at regularly, like CVS or a grocery store. However, due to their popularity, most grocery store gift cards are out of stock. They do currently have Whole Foods, Wal-Mart and Target cards.
Or if you’re planning to give a gift card as a gift anyway, check to see if it’s on raise.com first.
