This website wants to connect you with the perfect scholarship

Looking for as many scholarships as possible to make college as affordable as it can be (which, some schools’ tuitions edging close to $70,000 a year is pretty pricey, even with scholarships)? There’s an app for that. Tel Aviv-based startup ScholarshipOwl offers a free service that lets you know how many scholarships you’re eligible for, and just how much you can save.

By entering your date of birth, gender, grade level, GPA and desired major, the website filters through over 3.5 million opportunities in order to match you with the ones you’re best suited for. From that point forward, you can either take a survey created by the company’s marketing partners and then apply like crazy, or if you opt out, ScholarshipOwl will let you apply for a limited number of scholarships every couple of weeks. You can also go premium, $20 per month or $100 for the whole year, which gives you access to an account manager who will advise you on the finer points of the process. Regardless of what you choose, the website will keep you updated on your application status, as well as let you know if any other scholarship opportunities pop up.

This service could not have come at a better time. Right now is one of the most expensive times to go to college, and more people are attending college than ever before. According to a US News & World Report about 70 percent of 2013 college grads had an average of $28,400 in debt. Yikes.

But fear no more! The founder of ScholarshipOwl, Kenny Sandorffy, says the site has already matched over 25,000 with around 60 or 70 scholarships each. That’s a lot of opportunities to save, and a lot of good education for students who deserve it!
