According to Ryan Murphy, we still haven’t figure out the big twist on “American Horror Story: Roanoke”

Tomorrow night everything is (supposedly) going to change on American Horror Story. AHS Czar, Ryan Murphy, has been teasing a ~big twist~ that will completely alter the story of this season, along with probably giving us AHS whiplash and making our heads hurt. A lot.

For the past few weeks, we’ve been speculating widely as to what this big twist might be, and how it will play into the narrative of the season. We *think* it might have something to do with the behind-the-scenes documentary crew of “My Roanoke Nightmare,” but we’ve been wrong before (lol, remember “The Mist?” Yeah, my b). And while we can certainly keep guessing right up until 10 p.m. tomorrow night, according to Murphy we’re all wrong.

“It’s the biggest plot twist we’ve ever done on the show, he explained during a conference call this morning about AHS. So is it not, the-documentary-crew-is-behind-everything-and-oh-no-and-also-please-no-more-pigs...?

Murphy continues that we are, in fact, correct in thinking that there’s a ~twist~ when it comes to the actors and the actor reenactments — but it’s still probably not that simple.

"The season was sort of written as if the season was two different shows. Something happens where half the cast is revealed to be playing and doing something absolutely different than you’ve seen in the first five."

Even still, as soon as the ~twist~ is revealed it sounds like they’ll be another ~twist~, for like, ~twist inception~, something that Sarah Paulson teased a few weeks ago. Murphy continues,

"There’s a startling announcement at the end of act 3 that resets the rest of the season up until episode 10.

Do you ever feel like you’ve been given SO MUCH information, and also NO information at the same time? Reading Murphy’s comments here, that’s what’s happening. It’s been established that there’s a twist coming, but we haven’t figured it out yet, and then even once we figure it out, then there’s another twist. We know so, so much and also so, so little.

So buckle in, because it sounds like “Chapter 6” — and heck, the rest of this season! — is going to be one hell of a doozy.
