We just saw the trailer for ‘The Final Girls’ and now we’re totally ready to have a new favorite horror movie

We were already pretty darn excited for the horror-comedy The Final Girls. The cast features some of our TV faves (American Horror Story‘s Taissa Farmiga! Vampire Diaries‘ Nina Dobrev! Arrested Development‘s Alia Shawkat! Silicon Valley‘s Thomas Middleditch! So many more!)

Plus, we love the premise: Max (Taissa Farmiga) is grieving the loss of her mother (Malin Ackerman), a famous scream queen from the 1980’s, when she finds herself, along with her friends, pulled into the world of her mom’s most famous slasher movie. Together, Farmiga and Ackerman, along with Farmiga’s gang, have to fight off the film’s psychopath. It’s poignant, it’s meta, it features a host of powerful ladies, we’re sold.

Now that we’ve seen the trailer, we’re even MORE sold. Real talk, this one looks like a hands-down winner. We can’t wait! And we won’t have to wait TOO long. The film drops October 9th, just in time for Halloween!
