We can’t get enough of this teaser for Rihanna’s much-anticipated “Bates Motel” episodes
Want to put something fun on your calendar? How about this: Rihanna is going to be on Bates Motel during the show’s fifth and final season. Playing the role of Marion Crane, a character originally played by Janet Leigh in the film Psycho, she’ll definitely get into some sticky situations as the show unfolds. Lucky for us, we’ve got the first look at the new season, as a teaser trailer recently dropped.
Bates Motel is a Psycho prequel series that airs on A&E. The plot focuses on a young, teenage Norman Bates. The word is that Rihanna got the important role after confessing that she was a big fan. So really, this must be like a dream come true for her.
By checking out this first look, we think that Janet Leigh will be really proud of the way Rihanna handled her character.

Setting the trailer to Radiohead’s “Exit Music (For A Film)” is almost too perfect, don’t you think?
Executive producer Carlton Cuse definitely had a vision on how he’d handle the character. In a panel back in July, Cuse talked to Entertainment Weekly in greater detail about how Marion Crane would develop on television throughout this upcoming season.
"We are going to meet Marion Crane, but what we don’t want to do is create the impression that we’re redoing the movie because we’re not at all, Cuse said. "She’s a very different person in the movie and her story plays out in a different way."
We’re sure that Rihanna was more than up to making the character extra special.
Speaking of Rihanna’s acting, she’s also going to be featured in the upcoming film Ocean’s 8, as one of many incredible women in an all-star cast. And of course, last year around this time she released her album Anti. So she’s been pretty booked with huge projects and opportunities.
You can catch Bates Motel in just a few weeks. The 10-episode series will start airing on Monday, February 20th.
