Here are some ways to help Haiti in the wake of Hurricane Matthew

While the effects of Hurricane Matthew on the south-east United States aren’t quite all known yet, the storm’s horrific impact on Haiti is just being seen in its full scope: Almost 900 people are confirmed dead, countless more are now homeless and/or injured, and now sweeps of deadly cholera (mirroring the after effects of the devastating 2010 earthquake) are further ravaging the island nation.
In the wake of this destruction, here are several organizations working in Haiti who could benefit through monetary (not material) donations:
- – Project Medishare
– Doctors Without Borders
– Direct Relief - – Haitian Health Foundation
- – UNICEF
- – Partners in Health
- – Haiti Arise
- – Hope for Haiti
- – Food for the Poor
– American Red Cross - – International Red Cross
In addition to the above, people are taking to hashtags like #prayforhaiti in order to draw awareness to the country’s current state. We have the people of Haiti, as well as those affected in other nations and here in the United States, in our thoughts.
