How to Be an Awesome Person by Watching Cat Videos
So you watched a cat video or two during the work day. You’re only human. Sometimes the only thing you need to crack a smile is an animal doing a hilariously adorable thing on the Internet. You shouldn’t feel guilty, in fact you should pat yourself on the back. Your cat video habit could actually help some charities raise a little bit of money.
The folks over at CharityAnimalTV (also referred to as CATv, which is amazing) post adorable, time-wasting cat videos on the regular, and promise to donate 100% of their ad revenue to charitable causes. Each time you click on a video on their YouTube channel, a specific animal-related charity will receive money. Suddenly you’re not just watching “25 Startled Cats” as a way to waste time—you’re watching to help make a difference.
The mission of CATv is to build a massive subscriber base dedicated to watching cute animals, all who will be making the world a better place. One of the charities involved is the ASPCA, which helps provide effective means for the prevention of cruelty to animals throughout the United States. If you watched the entire video above, you just donated half of a penny to them—not bad for a little over a minute of your time, right?
Here are a few other karmically-awesome cat videos from the CATv:
Michael Jackson Cat
This kitty has his Thriller moves nailed! (Bonus: If you mute the video and put your own tunes on, I’m sure you can find endless ways for this to be entertaining.) Watching this video will donate half of a penny over to The Performing Animal Welfare Society, better known as PAWS.
Animals Who Act Like People
If you’re a pet owner, you’ve probably already humanized your fuzzy best friend. But nobody can hate a compilation of animals being absolutely hilarious, especially when it benefits the International Primate Protection League.
Beethoven Cat
I started cracking up 2 seconds after I started this video, but then felt instantly sad after viewing the cat tears. Talk about a mood swing. What can you say? This cat just truly appreciates classical music. Your view will give some money over to the International Fund for Animal Welfare.
Fountain Dogs
If cats aren’t your thing, don’t worry! The YouTube channel has plenty of super cute puppies that’ll warm your heart. Check out this amazing video of service dogs, cooling off in a fountain. This video will donate funds directly to Paws With Purpose, an organization that helps provide highly-skilled assistance dogs to children and adults with physical disabilities or other special needs.
