Watch Taylor Swift’s head-to-toe zombie transformation for her “Look What You Made Me Do” video
We all know that Taylor Swift rises up from the dead. (She does it all the time.) But now, we know exactly how Swift pulled off that *killer* zombie transformation in her music video for “Look What You Made Me Do.”
The video begins in a Thriller-esque graveyard. A zombified Swift claws her way out of a grave. The headstone reads: “Here Lies Taylor Swift’s Reputation.” Further, she is wearing the blue dress she wore in the “Out of the Woods” music video. So. Many. Symbols.
Her look is pretty terrifying — especially her hollowed-out cheeks and rotted arms.
Luckily, Swift just released a behind-the-scenes look at how her team pulled it all off. And no, it wasn’t CGI. She actually went through an extensive makeup and costuming process.
Look what they made her do.

Swift sits innocently in a chair wearing a white robe. First, they prime her face. Then, they airbrush zombie makeup everywhere, including her feet. Next, she gets those creepy claw hands. Add the blue dress and some dark eye shadow around her whole eye à la Jenny Humphrey and it all starts to come together. The singer pops in cloudy blue contacts and finally, she smirks and scowls and waves, fully embracing Dark Taylor Swift.
Oh! Because she’s dead.
The zombie costume is one of many that Swift dons in the video.
We see endless Taylors, including one of our personal faves, “You Belong With Me Taylor.”
The “Look What You Made Me Do” video has broken records left and right. She bested Adele’s “Hello” when the view count hit 43.2 million. The single sold 200,000 digital copies, making it the fastest-selling track since Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You.” We can only imagine how many Tay will break when Reputation comes out on November 10th.

We wouldn’t want to be on Swift’s list of names in red, underlined.
