Stop what you’re doing and watch Gaten Matarazzo cover Fall Out Boy and Paramore with his band
There’s no doubt about it, we’re fans of Stranger Things’ Gaten Matarazzo, who plays loveable (and monster-hiding) Dustin on the show. And off-screen, we’re fans of him, too. So right now, stop what you’re doing and watch Gaten Matarazzo cover Fall Out Boy and Paramore with his band, Work in Progress.
According to Bustle, they played at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ. On Dec. 29th and 30th, they performed several covers, including “Sugar, We’re Goin Down”by Fall Out Boy and “Misery Business” by Paramore. Gaten’s sister, Sabrina, is in the six-piece band, too, and you may remember the siblings singing the National Anthem together before a Mets game back in 2015. But the family band affair doesn’t stop there — their brother, Carmen, is in Work in Progress, on drums.
ICYMI, it turns out that Gaten also has a ~Broadway~ singing background, as he originated the role of Gavroche in the 2014 Les Miserables revival. So from Les Mis to Fall Out Boy, so to speak, now that we’ve seen Gaten sing, we don’t want to see him stop.
Judging by the YouTube video proof below, it looks like Gaten took part in singing at least three covers — in addition to ones for Fall Out Boy and Paramore, he also did “Everlong” by the Foo Fighters. YAS, please. You can also see Sabrina singing lead vocals, and we can’t get enough of the sibling singing duo, as well as Carmen drumming in the background.
