Watch Donald Glover, Issa Rae, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Damien Chazelle have an EPIC conversation on art

We lost an entire generation of legends this year that oozed creativity from every pore. David Bowie, Prince, Muhammad Ali, George Michael, Debbie Reynolds, Carrie Fisher… The very depressing list goes on and on. What many of these icons had in common was their tenacious ability to unapologetically be themselves while changing the world with their art. Even though this year was marked with the heavy loss of so much talent, we also witnessed the birth of a new class of equally inspiring and unforgiving world-changing creatives such Donald Glover (Atlanta), Issa Rae (Insecure), Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton), and Damien Chazelle (La La Land).

Earlier this month, The Hollywood Reporter gathered these fine folks for a candid and insightful roundtable. Over the course of an hour, the four powerhouses discussed their love for improv and how it influences their work, their early career struggles, how they stay connected with their audiences, what success means to them and so so much more.

Watching this conversation is the perfect way to spend an hour and focus on what we’ve gained this year rather than what we’ve lost. Glover, Rae, Miranda, and Chazelle are the next class of creatives that are changing the world so let’s learn from them while we still can.

We can’t wait to see what these four have in store for us in 2017.
