WANT/NEED: Golden Girls hot sauce, and more stuff you want to buy

Welcome to Want/Need, a weekly roundup of the things our Deputy Editor, Emily Popp, is currently coveting. It might be a pair of pink leather loafers that make her feel like she’s got her s*#t together, or a pool float in the shape of an avocado (because she’s not over the novelty pool float trend). Or maybe it’s as random as, like, dryer sheets. Basically this is all the stuff she’s obsessed with. Poppy’s picks, if you will.

Golden Girls Hot Sauce 4-Pack Set

As soon as it was announced that there’s going to be a Golden Girls-themed cruise, my phone was lighting up with texts from friends. “We have to go on this cruise!!!” They know me too well. So in honor of the news that the Golden Girls cruise will set sail in 2020, I’m including some GG-themed hot sauce in this week’s Want/Need. This 4-pack comes in flavors of all the ladies, but I think my favorite hot sauce name is the “Bea Spicy” flavor. I could definitely see myself slathering my breakfast burrito in that. Thank you, Golden Girls hot sauce, for being a friend.

ModCloth Familiar Face Shirt Dress

Speaking of iconic women… This pretty ModCloth frock features the faces of feminist icons like Michelle Obama, Malala Yousafzai, Amelia Earhart, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and other influential women. I like to wear my heart on my sleeve and my favorite feminist icons on my dress.

Dirty Lemon White Rose Anti-Aging Elixir

I’m a big fan of Dirty Lemon’s line of elixirs. I’m a believer in the “detox to retox” mantra, so I love a good health beverage. I’ve tried virtually all the flavors Dirty Lemon has come out with over the years, but this White Rose flavor has to be my all-time favorite. The packaging alone is very on brand for me: pink roses! But the flavor is so bright and tart and… rose-y! It also has less than 1 gram of sugar. And, even cooler: for each bottle sold, $1 will be donated to Equality Now.

Field + Fleur 2-Wick Peony Blush Candle

One of my favorite pastimes is pouring a tall glass of wine and perusing Amazon for candles. Yes, there’s something about smelling candles IRL that you can’t get with online candle shopping, but you can’t beat the convenience of clicking around online and the knowledge that a candle will arrive on your doorstep in two business days. I’m partial to floral scents, so I’m obsessed with this “Peony Blush” candle from Field + Fleur. It’s the perfect way to say “sayonara!” to winter and usher in springtime.

Ryka Olyssia Sneaker in Rose

I’ve been looking for a sneaker in just the right shade of blush, and honestly it’s been so hard to find a cute blush-colored sneaker that doesn’t cost gallons of dollars. I like a lot of them, but usually they’re leather and overpriced. I love these ones, because they’re reasonably priced at $69 and have a pretty strip of jute for a little extra visual interest. I like to spend my weekends outdoors, going to mimosa brunches and looking at puppies at my neighborhood dog adoption center, and these are the perfect “off-duty” shoes for my weekend wardrobe.

QDOBA Adobo Chicken Bowls

Ok, so full disclosure: When I’m having a particularly rough day and I find myself fighting back tears for whatever reason, I like to treat myself to a little “sad day” comfort food. My current “it’s okay if you cried at all the red lights in your car” treat is QDOBA. It perks me up and just makes me feel good. My personal preference is their Adobo Chicken—either in the form of a salad, or if I’m feeling lavish, I’ll get it added to their nachos. My “sad day” treat used to be an ice-cream cake from Baskin-Robbins, but I’m trying to cut back on refined sugar… so this is way healthier.

Beautural Fabric Shave

Ooo, let me tell you about the healing power of a fabric shaver. My friend owns one of these and introduced me to it, and I’m forever changed. Basically, it’s a tool that gets the “pills” (aka little fuzzies) off of your sweaters and other fabrics, and it’s amazing. Fabric de-pillers are basically the new adult coloring books. They’re just so calming! I spent the other night getting the pills off of my upholstered headboard on my bed and it was truly therapeutic.
