WANT/NEED: Fancy gin that’s pink (!), and more stuff you want to buy
Welcome to Want/Need, a daily roundup of the things our Deputy Editor, Emily Popp, is currently coveting. It might be a pair of pink leather loafers that make her feel like she’s got her s*#t together, or a pool float in the shape of an avocado (because she’s not over the novelty pool float trend). Or maybe it’s as random as, like, dryer sheets. Basically this is all the stuff she’s obsessed with. Poppy’s picks, if you will.
Wolffer Estate Pink Gin
I’m a big fan of Wolffer Estate’s sparkling dry rosé cider (it even made my top 10 favorite things of 2017!), so clearly I was tickled millennial pink when I saw that they had a pink gin! Pink gin, I had never heard of such a thing. But I love that it exists and naturally I had to taste test this for myself. I’m actually not a big hard alcohol drinker (I’m more of a beer and wine girl), but this went down so smoothly. I treated myself to a nice G&T this weekend, and this pink gin made it extra delicious. I’d go as far as to say it was the best gin I’ve ever had, and definitely the most on-brand. Blush pink is my signature color, after all. So how do you get your hands on this trendy pink gin, you ask? If you purchase it through MiniBar Delivery, you can get it delivered straight to your door. Ah, the joys of living in 2018.
Moon River Button Front Blouse
Clearly I’ve got my rose colored glasses on today, because I’m in a pink mood. I told myself no more clothing purchases for the rest of the month, but I caved and bought this bright pink linen halter top.
Susanne Kaufmann Herbal Whey Bath Calming
Some of my all-time favorite body products are from Susanne Kaufmann. They are level-10 luxury. I’m a big believer in the calming effect of baths, and I make it my life mission to test all the best quality bath products on the market. Currently sitting on the side of my tub? This “Herbal Whey Bath Calming,” which is a powder that you pour into your bath. It smells like lavender and lemon balm, and it instantly made my skin feel smooth. Usually I don’t notice a softness in my skin until after I’ve gotten out of the bath and dried off, but right away my skin felt detoxed and buttery soft. The combination of the moisturizing effect and the fragrant lavender and citrus scent made me breath deeply and calmly, and instantly I felt the anxieties of my day melt away into the bath.
Frozen Treats Stamps
I think snail mail is a lost art, and we should all send more letters. Whenever I buy stamps at the post office and they give me an option of design, I always take approximately one hour deciding what I want. I like my stamps to be a reflection of myself! And I don’t think I’ve ever found a better reflection than these scratch and sniff popsicle stamps. I scratched them myself, and they really do smell exactly like a delicious fruity popsicle, which happens to be my all-time favorite summer treat, btw. Now I’m craving a Popsicle.
Beachwaver S1
Our video producer, Lindsey Sirera, has the most gorgeous long wavy red hair. It’s Disney princess perfect, and I don’t know how to say this without sounding creepy, but I want to steal her hair. Ha, but truly, she’s got some great hair genes. So today’s hair tool pick comes courtesy Lindsey:
“I’ve been obsessed with the Beachwaver since the second it touched my hair. I’ve always been comically bad at curling my hair, and thought curls could only come from a hairstylist. But the Beachwaver was a *major* game changer. It’s designed for people who are curling iron illiterate (me), and gives you the most perfectly crafted curls (or waves) that last until your next wash. I’d be lost without it.”
