Everyone wants to kill Negan in the first “Walking Dead” Season 7B photos

When we last left Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), he was feeling reinvigorated and ready to take on Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) after a full half season of heartbreak and misery took so many of his friends.

Thankfully, from the looks of the first four photos released from “The Walking Dead” Season 7B — which premieres on February 12, btw — the rest of the gang is reinvigorated, too, which should be a huge relief to the many fans (raises hand) who grew tired of watching Negan reign holy terror on Alexandria without consequences over the fall.

The first photo is a solo shot of Rick, which is nice, but doesn’t really give us any information.

The second, however, shows Rick, Michonne (Danai Gurira), Aaron (Ross Marquand), and Tara (Alanna Masterson) ready for battle.

Notable here is that Rick has a gun — a gun that is definitely contraband, since Negan stole Alexandria’s entire supply. Rosita (Christian Serratos) held on to a gun and actually tried to shoot Negan with it in the midseason finale, which is why poor, sweet Olivia is now six feet under.

Sure, they could be gearing up to kill Walkers, here, but Rick having a gun is still a major step in the right direction.

The third features Rick, Michonne, Maggie (Lauren Cohan), Daryl (Norman Reedus) and more confronting Hilltop’s leader, Gregory.

Call us crazy, but we think what they’re discussing has something to do with, y’know, combining forces to conquer Negan and his Saviors. Gregory will likely be reticent to do so given his A) past experience with the Saviors and B) overall cowardly persona, but once Ezekiel and his Kingdom inevitably join the fight, we think he’ll come around.

And finally, the fourth features pretty much everyone ready for action — and also, mad at Enid? — at the Barrington House at Hilltop.

AMC also released an official synopsis for 7B, which reads,

"The second half of the season will focus on preparing for war and gathering the supplies and numbers to take Negan down once and for all. Rick's group will find out yet again that the world isn't what they thought it was. It's much bigger than anything they've seen so far. While they have a singular purpose—to defeat Negan -- it won't come easy. More importantly, victory will require more than Alexandria. They need the numbers of the Kingdom and the Hilltop, but, similar to how Rick felt, Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Gregory (Xander Berkeley) do not want bloodshed. To convince them otherwise will take more than speeches. The lengths Rick and the group will have to go to in order to find weapons, food and new fighters is nothing short of remarkable. We'll meet new survivors in incredible places. We'll see Rick and the group tested in ways we've never seen before. We'll see treachery from people we trust. Rick is confident as he will see his group and many others band together with the common goal of taking down Negan. But no amount of planning will prepare the group for all-out war with Negan and his army."

Basically, if you thought 7A — which included the deaths of longtime Grimes Gang mainstays Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) — was bloody, you, and Rick Grimes himself, ain’t seen nothing yet.
