Voldemort was apparently summoned in the sky. Be very afraid.
You better start practicing your spells, looking out for Horcruxes, and checking every nook and cranny for a giant snake because… Lord Voldemort has returned. Kind of.
During last Wednesday’s British Fireworks Championships, Mashable reports, the Dark Lord made a special appearance. As one of the event’s fireworks began to fade into the night sky, the face of dark magic became visible amidst the smoke. The firework’s red/orange glow makes this likeness even more fearsome, since it appears as though it’s surrounded by eerie flames. And, to think, it all went down above Cattedown Wharves in Plymouth, Devon—which just so happens to be a few miles from Hogwarts! (Coincidence? We think not!)
This incredible photo was taken by muggle/amateur photographer Trevor James. “Funnily enough, I’ve never seen Harry Potter in my life,” James told Daily Mail. “I was shocked when I looked at my pictures and saw this creepy face. I showed it to a couple of people and they mentioned it looked a bit like Lord Voldemort.”
If you’re thinking, “Wait, how exactly does that look like Voldemort, it’s just a vague-looking face in a firework,” then take a look and remind yourself, friend:
SEE? And… just for good measure, we should all remind ourselves of what the Death Eater’s Dark Mark looks like because we may be coming across it very, very soon.
So, watch out. You might be seeing the Dark Mark appear on Death Eaters. Like Draco Malfoy here:
While we’re sure this nebulous Voldemort shape in the sky is just the result of smoke and wind, it’s pretty fun terrifying to pretend The Dark Lord is real and here and seeking revenge. If you’re on a Harry Potter (life-long) kick like we are, you can check out these Harry Potter theories that at will surely bring more magic into your life —Voldemort coming back as a smokey omen or not.
