Viola Davis penned the sweetest birthday message to her daughter
Whenever Viola Davis speaks, we automatically stop what we’re doing to listen in anticipation of her always eloquent, inspiring words — even if they’re not intended for us. On Sunday, Davis wished her daughter Genesis a happy 7th birthday, and her heartfelt message to her child is one of the sweetest things a mom could ever say.
The How to Get Away With Murder actress and her husband Julius Tennon adopted their precious baby girl back in 2011, and thanks to plenty of social media updates of the family spending time together, we’ve been able to watch Genesis grow from a wee one into a super spirited mini-actress in the making.
After seeing Davis and her daughter live it up in Vegas, and bowing down to Genesis for dressing up as her mom for Halloween (best kid ever!), we were pretty much sold on the fact that the 51-year-old is the mother of all mothers, but this birthday message basically seals the deal.
"You were born from mommy's heart," Davis wrote on Instagram. "I love you so much for accepting me as your mommy. Happy birthday Miss Genesis! Love, love my baby!!!"
Ugh, our hearts can’t take it. Davis is constantly uplifting Genesis with encouraging words that teach her the importance of valuing herself, which is so crucial when it comes to helping girls develop healthy self-esteem levels from an early age.
Clearly, Davis is fully committed to raising a super confident daughter who knows the power of her presence and her voice, and we couldn’t admire her more if we tried.
