Vin Diesel says Baby Groot will be “goofy and adorable” in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2,” and our hearts almost can’t take it!
You thought you loved Groot in the first Guardians of the Galaxy? Think again, because Baby Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will have you squealing.
This little teaser came straight from actor Vin Diesel, who voices the beloved animated character.
"I always think of the Groot that we saw on the first Guardians as a college-level Groot, so he’s not fully grown yet, but he’s a man," Diesel said. "And once he sacrifices himself at the end of the movie, now he has to start all over, so to speak, but we’re gonna see this goofy, adorable, baby Groot thing running around the screen and just learning as he goes.
Guardians fans got a glimpse of Baby Groot when director James Gunn Tweeted some concept art from the sequel over the summer.

The concept art reveals the villain that the Guardians are up against this time around. Known as an Abilisk, James told some curious fans on Twitter that the monster is a bad guy, but there’s a possibility that he may be redeemed.

Baby Groot, in the corner of the photo, looks like he’s launching himself as far away from the battle happening behind him as he possibly can. We could probably laugh at his deliriously happy facial expression all day.
