The newest ‘A Very Murray Christmas’ trailer is life

Dear Santa,

All we want for Christmas is Bill Murray in a variety show with a ton of celebrities. And have it directed by Sophia Coppolla. Oh, and definitely some singing and dancing. 

Lucky for us, Netlfix is apparently in the wish-granting business this holiday season, because come December 4th, A Very Murray Christmas is going to make all our Yuletide dreams come true.

A Very Murray Christmas is the Christmas special we never knew we needed, and just happens to feature every famous person, ever. Folks like Miley Cyrus, Michael Cera, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, Jenny Lewis, Rashida Jones, and George Clooney are channelling their Christmas spirit to make what Netflix calls, “an homage to the classic variety show,” but what we call, “the greatest news ever.”

The premise is not revolutionary, and follows a pretty traditional arc, but Bill Murray and the star-studded cast fully compensate for that. So, Bill Murray plays himself in the two-hour special which surrounds him trying to produce a TV show. But Murray is worried the snowstorm will keep his guests from arriving on time, but, as Netflix describes it, “Through luck and perseverance, guests arrive at the Carlyle hotel to help him; dancing and singing in holiday spirit.”

A Very Murray Christmas is sure to rank right up there with other Murray holiday classics like Scrooged, and might be the only thing I need under my tree this year.
