Kristen Bell just confirmed that a Veronica Mars revival is 100% happening

Now, this is the revival news we’ve been waiting for. Your favorite sass-talking detective is officially returning to a TV screen near you. That’s right, a Veronica Mars revival series is happening! Star Kristen Bell took to Instagram today, September 20th, to confirm the news.

E! News reported back in August that a new season of the mystery series was close to a deal at Hulu—with original creator Rob Thomas and series star Kristen Bell on board.

"We're still working on it. We're hopeful," Thomas told E! News at the time. "Yeah. It's just finding the window where [Bell] is available and I'm available is part of the trick and yeah, but spiritually we're still very into it."

The actress’s commitments to NBC’s The Good Place may have been part of the scheduling conflict, but the Veronica Mars revival will reportedly be a limited eight episodes, so it seems like it all worked out.

Unfortunately, other details have yet to be announced, including whether the series will pick up where the 2014 Veronica Mars movie left off. It’s also not yet clear how many other original cast members will return if the project is green-lit, but some of them have shared their support on Twitter.

The original series aired for two seasons on UPN, then ran for another season on The CW before being canceled. It followed the saga of a California teen detective on a quest for answers about the murder of her best friend. In each episode, Veronica cracks a different stand-alone case while working to solve a more complex mystery.

Bell hinted that revival efforts were in full effect in January, revealing that there was definitely a chance we’d see more of her character.

"In my world there is," she told E! News at the time. "I mean, I'm going to be blunt: It's tough, for a variety of reasons I can't get into, but, [Rob Thomas] and I are trying and we will continue to try."

We’re officially stoked.
