Vans’ newest sneaker is what your feet need, whether you’re waiting in line at Disneyland or backpacking through Europe
There’s no substitute for the classic Vans Old Skool sneaker. It’s iconic, goes with everything, and the more you wear ’em, the better they look. While we agree that “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” we are pretty curious about Vans’ newest release. The Vans UltraRange Rapidweld was designed with surfers in mind, but we think it’ll be just as functional (and fashionable) whether you’re waiting in line at Disneyland or backpacking through Europe.
Vans Old Skool was made for skateboarding, while the UltraRange Rapidweld is meant for everything else, specifically anything that involves a ton of walking. It’s got a sock-like fit for comfort, breathable mesh to keep your feet cool, and a durable sole.
What may just look like a remixed Old Skool is a whole lot more. Think more cushion, a grippier sole, and an inner sock liner.
Vans described the new shoe on their site, saying,
"A new addition to the Vans family, the athlete-inspired UltraRange Rapidweld was the solution to our top surfers' need for a versatile shoe that provided comfort for long journeys around the world."
The description also says the shoe features, “a brand new UltraCush Lite midsole compound offering the ultimate in comfort and durability, plus a LuxLiner sock-fit construction with seamless internals to reduce weight, rubbing, and hotspots.”
The Vans UltraRange Rapidweld is available right now at Vans.com in white, black, grey, and pink for 80 bucks. Who’s copping?
