Vanessa Hudgens reveals what role she’d play if she came back to do “High School Musical 4”

It’s been more than a decade since the first High School Musical came out, and Disney Channel now has a fourth installment in the works. Of course, the first question on everyone’s mind is whether or not the cast of the first three movies will be a part of the new project, so Vanessa Hudgens cleared up a few things in a recent interview about High School Musical 4.

"I mean, I'm 28," Hudgens told E! News Wednesday. "I could be a teacher, but I refuse to be a teacher! I'm still a teenager at heart. So probably not with me, but I'm excited to see what they whip together."

So, she could potentially be in the new movie (as someone other than a teacher), but the odds don’t look good.

High School Musical 4 will focus on a whole new set of students at East High and their crosstown rivals at West High. Hudgens’ advice to the new cast was to “just have fun. We were just kids running around having fun.”

Without Hudgens, it looks like High School Musical 4 will be the start of something new. However, the writers of the first three High School Musical movies, Dan Berendsen and Peter Barsocchini, are also writing the fourth, so it will likely have a lot of the early ’00s charm that die-hard fans love so much, even if the original cast is nowhere to be seen.

“It’s insane to me that kids are still watching High School Musical,” Hudgens told E! News. “I mean it’s amazing. It just shows the power of a musical. They’re timeless.”
