Once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away, Harry Styles was nearly in the Han Solo movie
Once upon a time in a galaxy far, far away, it seems that Harry Styles was nearly cast in the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff movie, and we can totally imagine Harold hanging out with a wookiee, can’t you?
It’s been a busy few weeks for Harry Styles. Not only did director Christopher Nolan tease the former One Direction singer’s acting ability in his upcoming cinematic debut for World War II movie Dunkirk, but Harry also officially launched his solo music career. After weeks of teasing, last Friday (April 7th) the singer shared his debut solo single, the ’70s tinged “Sign Of The Times,” and it’s safe to say that we’re pretty darn obsessed with it.

But not it’s been revealed that Harry Styles could have been cast in the upcoming Han Solo movie, and it’s blowing our minds.
According to a report by British tabloid The Sun, bosses at Disney were pretty keen on picking Styles to play the iconic role in the upcoming movie.
"Harry was one of the early names in contention when the studio looked at Han Solo," an insider revealed. "Even though he had virtually no acting experience, they saw he had huge star potential and would give the solo project enormous publicity. On initial inquiries Harry had his music career laid out and it would have been almost impossible to lock him down for the job."
Tbh, we can actually totally picture Harry Styles taking on the iconic role (although, he’d have to lose that accent), and we’d actually have quite liked to have seen him play a space smuggler.
However, as we now know, the role of Han Solo went to Alden Ehrenreich, who, we think you’ll agree, bears some pretty close similarities to Harrison Ford. The movie, which is set for release in 2018, also stars Woody Harrelson, Donald Glover, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and Emilia Clarke.

Meanwhile, Harry Styles is set to play Saturday Night Live this weekend. The singer is expected to make the live debut of “Sign Of The Times.” It’s unknown whether, as is usually the case, he’ll perform a second song, too.
