The United Airlines passenger who was dragged off his flight just released a statement
The world has had many thoughts on the United Airlines passenger who was violently dragged off an overbooked flight earlier this week. And now that passenger — Dr. David Dao — has released a statement through his lawyer about the incident.
In case you missed it, United has received a huge wave of backlash after forcibly removing a paying customer on a flight from Chicago to Louisville to make room for United employees who needed to be in Louisville for work the next day. When the customer, Dr. Dao (who was allegedly selected at random) said he could not miss the flight since he had to see patients the next morning, the airline called security to remove him with physical force.

And this is when it gets even worse.
In the commotion, Dao’s face was violently smashed against an armrest, resulting in a bloodied face and trauma to his head. Dao eventually was led off the plane on a stretcher. Outraged fellow passengers documented the incident on their phones, and many vocally protested the airline’s unnecessary use of force.
Dao’s attorney just released the following statement from Dao and his family.
"The family of Dr. Dao wants the world to know that they are very appreciative of the outpouring of prayers, concern and support they have received. Currently, they are focused only on Dr. Dao’s medical care and treatment."
Meanwhile, United CEO Oscar Munoz has since said in a statement that, “[…] No one should ever be mistreated this way. I want you to know that we take full responsibility and we will work to make it right.”

We sincerely hope that United undergoes a serious evaluation of its internal policies so this kind of incident never happens again, and are wishing Dr. Dao a speedy and complete recovery.
