The “underboob bra” is now here, in case you’re into that
We’ve heard of bras with no straps, and bras with no padding, but now, there’s a bra that has no bottom section at all. That’s right: The “Nichole” Cap Sleeve Open Cup Bralette from Honeydew Intimates showcases your underboob, in case that was an asset you particularly wanted to highlight.
The $36 bra, which is being sold at Nordstrom, technically actually has more coverage than your average bra, as it covers the shoulders with sheer fabric and lace. But if you want the bottom half of your girls to be covered, look elsewhere, because the Nichole bralette is meant to show off your underboob. It does have straps that go underneath your breasts, although not necessarily to hoist them. We want to know, does it feel freeing, or like your boobs are wearing a pair of chaps? HOW DOES THIS WORK.
The website describes the Nichole bralette to be “an intensely alluring bralette features an intriguing design with a point d’esprit cap-sleeve yoke, lacy open cups, and a strappy front.” Naturally, this bra isn’t exactly great for support, so it’s not best to wear on your morning job — it may be good for sexy selfies, or to pleasantly surprise your partner. Also, if you’re interested in the underboob bra but your girls are above a C cup, you’re unfortunately out of luck — the bralette “offers light support for most A-C cup sizes” and comes in small to large, from band sizes 32 to 36.
This underboob bra may be one of the first of its kind to hit major retailers, it’s not the first ever. Earlier this year, Japanese model Saya Kataoka — also known as the “Underboob Angel” — posted selfies of herself in a homemade underboob bra, claiming that she’s hoping to find interested business partners to lift her project up (pun totally intended).
So will underboob bras become the next lingerie craze? Oh, what a world.
