This is how Uber’s latest update is trying to make you a better passenger
Did you know that Uber drivers can give you a rating, just like you can rate them? In the app’s latest update, Uber riders will be able to see what drivers think of them much more easily than before.
The change will put a rider’s rating directly below their username within the Uber app, making it abundantly clear every time you’re using Uber what the general consensus is on you as a passenger.
"To give riders more visibility into how drivers are rating them, we’re making rider ratings much more accessible in the app. Now, a rider’s rating will be displayed right under their name in the app’s menu. We hope this update will remind riders that mutual respect is an important part of our Community Guidelines," Uber wrote in a blog post.
Basically, Uber hopes you’ll step up your game to be more polite if you know your rating is at stake.
"These updates are part of our continued effort to ensure everyone has a 5-star ride because Uber is better for all when both drivers and riders do their part," they wrote.
Any updates to help riders and drivers feel safer and more comfortable is okay in our book.
