Two women surprised each other by proposing at the same time, and this is soulmate-level love
Jessa Gillaspie and Becky McCabe thought they were taking an ordinary trip to the Memphis Zoo when Becky got down on one knee. Aww, a surprise proposal. But wait — while Becky was on bended knee asking her girlfriend “Will you marry me?” Jessa pulled a ring out of her purse, and omigod, yes, this actually happened. The women both planned surprise proposals to each other on the same day.
"Becky McCabe and I got ENGAGED Friday night at Zoo Brew," Jessa shared alongside a video of the big proposal. "I had no idea she planned to propose, and she had no idea I planned to propose to her! We were both so surprised!!!! We were surrounded by our friends and had the most amazing night. I am the luckiest girl in the world to be able to call her my fiancé."
Once their proposal went viral, Jessa added this to the video’s description: “We had no idea this would blow up so quickly! But I can’t say I’m not thrilled, because all I’ve ever wanted was for Beck and the world to know how much l love her. We are overwhelmed with all of the positive responses.”
According to an interview with USAToday.com, the couple initially met at the University of Memphis and had their first date at the same Zoo Brew festival two years before. “That is where we had our first date. I knew that had to be the moment,” Becky told the news outlet. She gathered the same group of friends who had been with them two years earlier so that she could “recreate” the day — something she’d been planning for three weeks.
Meanwhile, Jessa took a more spontaneous approach. She said she decided to bring the ring with her the day of, thinking, “When the moment is right, I will feel it in my heart.”

According to Jessa’s Facebook, their wedding hashtag is the #McBabes (a play on her fiancé’s last name McCabe). That right there is an A+ level wedding hashtag and proposal story. Congrats to the happy couple.
