Twitter is freaking out over the Zayn Malik and Taylor Swift collab, and we get it

If you’ve entered the realm of the interweb at all today, then you probably heard that Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik released a surprise single last night, and you also may have noticed that the Internet is kind of losing its mind.

The song, called “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever,” is super moody (in a good way) and will be featured on the Fifty Shades Darker soundtrack (as if we didn’t already have enough reason to totally freak out about this movie. But we digress).

Let’s take a quick listen together, shall we?

And of course, the Twittersphere is, well…atwitter.

Not that we’re mad about it. Probably a good 40% of our weekly enjoyment comes from Twitter reactions in and of themselves, so this is basically the best Friday gift we ever could have asked for.  Now, let’s peruse some of those responses!

Um, we literally COULD NOT AGREE MORE!

Also, FYI, the song hit #1 on iTunes within an hour after its release. An hour. Plus, this was Taylor’s first release since her 1989 album two whole years ago, and most fans were not expecting any new music from her in the near future. Needless to say, this is a pretty big deal.

Malik is dating one of Taylor’s best friend, model Gigi Hadid, so maybe that had something to do with the unexpected collaboration? Whatever the reason, we’re 100% on board and they officially have the okay to surprise us with more beautiful music any time (like, seriously. Does tomorrow work?).

WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE!
