Twitter just eased up the 140 characters rule so pics, GIFs and quotes no longer count toward the tweet limit

Today Twitter announced an update to their service that we have ALL been waiting for. Up until now, Twitter was very strict about their 140 character limit, and if you added a picture or GIF or quoted a tweet, that counted as part of your 140 characters. But now, they’ve relaxed that rule, and it’s got us all excited.

Twitter is going to STOP counting pics, GIFs, videos, polls and quote tweets against the 140 character limit.

This is HUGE news, because we’ve been cutting down our tweets to fit that perfect pic for SO long, and we’re excited we won’t have to worry about it anymore.

Now, we can say what we want to say AND express our excitement via GIF all in one tweet.

You can imagine that this makes us pretty excited.

According to The Next Web, the changes are being rolled out, so you might not notice the change right away, but it’s coming, and it will be glorious.

BRB, going to go add in ALL the hashtags.
