Twitter is having a meltdown over the fact that the 2018 Oscars used the song from “Love Actually” in a montage
If you’re a die-hard fan of Love Actually like we are, then you definitely noticed that a song from the movie was used during a montage at the 2018 Oscars. This year marks the 90th Annual Academy Awards, therefore you know they had to do something special to honor the anniversary. So the Academy created a four-minute long montage, using a very familiar song to celebrate 90 years of movie and Oscars history.
However, it seems like the Love Actually song (which was paired with the montage’s string of romantic scenes from movies) was too much for Twitter to handle. Not only did it make fans incredibly happy, but it transported them to a specific tear-jerking scene in the beloved holiday film.
You know the scene where Sam (Thomas Brodie-Sangster) is seen running through the airport to find Joanna (Olivia Olson)? It’s one of those scenes you’ll probably never forget. In fact, it’s one of those songs you’ll recognize years from now. The Academy obviously knew what they were doing when the chose the song, “Joanna Drives Off,” because everyone’s love for Love Actually is real.
Check out the montage below – and be prepared to feel a bunch of feels.

Can we just say that Love Actually was the actual Best Picture winner at the Oscars? Kidding, but we’re glad it was included.
