Get a look at how millennials flirt with this trending Twitter hashtag
There’s so much talk about how millennials do everything differently from previous generations, and whether that’s a good thing or not. Personally, I think that we’re a product of our environment — we’re responding to the age we were born into, and we’re learning about technology and the economy we have to work with and making the best of it! So what if we abbreviate our text messages (and okay, sometimes our emails and even the words we say out loud), we’re working really damn hard just to pay our rent, contrary to popular opinion.
Because there is, in fact, a lot of discourse about just what it means to be a millennial, it can sometimes feel like we’re trying to defend ourselves whenever a new think piece or trending topic about millennials comes out. Some of that discourse is frustrating, but some of it is fun. An example of the fun kind: the Twitter hashtag #MillennialFlirting. People are tweeting their fave ways (real and ironic) that millennials flirt with each other, and the tweets are anything from sweet to outrageous. Here are some of our faves from this trending topic: false false false false false
Millennials, of course, flirt in all kinds of ways that don’t involve phone apps, farm-to-table restaurants, or internet slang. We are normal people, even though we have a propensity to refer to ourselves with alien emojis and cover our faces with other non-human filters on Snapchat. We’re just trying things out, because the world is scary and sometimes, we all need a little escape — even from ourselves.
Anyway, it’s a fun hashtag to look at, so join in the fun on Twitter.
