This TV anchor unknowingly read the news of her husband’s death on air
Live TV can often make for some unfortunate situations, but none have been quite as heartbreaking as this. 28-year-old Supreet Kaur was going about her job as usual: reading the breaking news taking place in Chhattisgarh, India for the private IBC-24 channel. What she didn’t expect was that the news she was reporting was about a fatal car accident which killed her husband.
When we’re being filmed on live TV, we might worry about forgetting our lines or maybe stumbling on a word, but this is a tragic surprise for Kaur who reportedly had been married to her husband, Harsad Kawade, for a year.

According to The Independent, Kaur realized during the report that her husband had been in the accident due to the phoned-in details of the tragedy.
The reporter told Kaur (and everyone watching the news) that three of the five people in a Renault Duster had been killed, and the anchor realized that her husband had been planning to travel on that exact route with four people in a Renault Duster. While she somehow kept her composure for the news hour, The Independent reports that Kaur broke down only after she left the studio later.
A senior editor told The Hindustan Times, “She got a sense that it was her husband’s vehicle. She read the bulletin and only when she came out of the studio, she started calling her relatives.” Kaur’s colleagues had also discovered that her husband was killed in the accident while she was reading the news, but did not tell her due to lack of courage.
"She is an extremely brave lady. We are proud of her as an anchor, but what happened today has left us in shock," Kaur's colleague explained.
Kaur found out this terrible news in one of ehe worst possible ways, and we hope that she’s taking the time and care that she needs for herself.
