Turns out this nipple cream for breastfeeding moms is also the perfect lip balm

In a world where DIYs and “hacks” are popular, it should come as no surprise that a cream has multiple uses. While most women use a certain nipple cream during breastfeeding, some use it as lip balm.

No, you didn’t misread that. Some women use nipple cream for their lips!

Everyone knows the struggle of chapped lips. No matter how much Vaseline you put on them, it’s never enough.

So why not give this new product a try? It may seem weird, but it works!

One brave Redditor decided to share her discovery online. She struggles with chronically chapped lips and was searching for a solution. Then, she stumbled upon a suggestion and decided to try out a nipple cream called Lansinoh HPA Lanolin Tube. According to her:

“It wasn’t cheap at almost $8, but the tube should last me a decade at minimum. I am not kidding you, I have NEVER put something this smooth on my lips. I used the tiniest of tiny amount of the product and, an hour and a half later, it feels like I just put it on. I think I’ve found my new favorite product!!!”

The key to this fantastic solution is the ingredient called lanolin. It’s a fat that’s extracted from the fleece of sheep who have been bred to supply us with wool. According to Randy Schueller, a cosmetic chemist:

"Lanolin is great for your skin because it's a complex mixture of lipids that are very similar to the intercellular lipids (cholesterol derivatives and free fatty acids) of the stratum corneum."

Before you grab a tube and start using this product, make sure you are not allergic first. The compounds in lanolin can be allergenic. If you’re not allergic, go ahead and use away — if it’s great for breastfeeding nipples, it’s great for your lips, too.
