Finally, the Tumblr change we’ve been waiting for

Boom, your Thursday just got better. Popular blogging website Tumblr has rolled out a new update that solves one of their longest-running problems: the string of reblogs and comments that pile up into an indecipherable mess below a post. No more!

With this new update, reblogs are much sleeker, appearing in an easy-to-follow column with prominently displayed usernames so you’re not left searching for who said what. You can take a look at the before and after below:

See? So much easier. Users have already started celebrating this change over on Twitter.

But, as it is with every update, other users aren’t as excited.

Regardless of criticism, it’s full steam ahead for Tumblr when it comes to reblogs and comments. This is the next step in long process of refining and monitoring the way users interact with the site. Back in July, they removed the ability for users to edit and change any of the reblogs and comments that came before — something that was becoming a real issue when it came to copyright and attribution.

As of right now, this new set-up is dashboard only, which means it won’t affect how things are displayed on your blog. It’s more there as way to make interaction within a the site a little bit easier.
