People around the world are hearing strange trumpet sounds in the sky and it’s freaking everyone out

Somebody get Mulder and Scully on this stat. You just can’t make up a story like this.

People all over the world are reportedly hearing trumpet sounds coming from the sky. Yes, trumpets, like the instrument—and there’s tons of video evidence to prove it. This odd phenomenon is happening in every corner of the earth, from Germany to Canada to Australia. These elephantine noises have neighbors gathering in the streets, scratching their heads and wondering just what the heck they’re hearing.

“Can anyone else hear that noise?!” one man asks in a video uploaded to YouTube. Although this odd news first made the rounds on the Internet last month, new video evidence of the sounds have been posted this week—this time in Malaysia.

So, what’s causing the sounds? Is it aliens? The end of days? NASA has an idea, and it’s pretty mind-blowing: They say there’s a possibility it’s the “background noise” of the earth. Say what?! #science

“If humans had radio antennas instead of ears, we would hear a remarkable symphony of strange noises coming from our own planet,” a NASA spokesperson explained. Apparently these noises happen around us all the time; we’re just unaware of them.
