Trump took a swipe at Michelle Wolf—and she took a swipe right back

Comedian Michelle Wolf just gave Donald Trump a taste of his own rancid medicine. After Trump took a swipe at her on Twitter by calling her a “so-called comedian,” Wolf clapped back with the perfect reply. The exchange all began when Trump tweeted about the White House Press Association’s recent decision to not hire a comedian for the 2019 White House Correspondents’ Dinner (breaking years of tradition). At the 2018 event, Wolf famously threw comedic jabs at press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders, White House advisor Kellyanne Conway, and of course, the president himself.

"So-called comedian Michelle Wolf bombed so badly last year at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner that this year, for the first time in decades, they will have an author instead of a comedian," he wrote. "Good first step in comeback of a dying evening and tradition! Maybe I will go?"

To which Wolf replied,

"I bet you'd be on my side if I had killed a journalist. #BeBest."

Wolf’s hard-hitting tweet refers to Trump’s continued support of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, even though it’s been confirmed that the Crown Prince ordered the murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Wolf also tagged her tweet with First Lady Melania’s anti-bullying campaign slogan.

Many on Twitter spoke up in defense of Wolf (because with a comeback like that, how could you not?).

We’re so glad so many people are calling out Trump’s insanity. Because this is not—and should never be considered—normal.
