A Trump supporter told her daughters that men groping women is “no big deal” on an MSNBC news segment
As of this morning, a third woman has stepped forward with allegations of sexual assault against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh. Attorney Michael Avenatti released an affidavit from Julie Swetnick, a distinguished U.S. government employee, on Twitter on September 26th. In her declaration, Swetnick says she became a victim of a gang rape where Kavanaugh and his friend Mark Judge were present in 1982. Prior to the incident, Swetnick writes that she “witnessed efforts by Mark Judge, Brett Kavanaugh and others to cause girls to become inebriated and disoriented so they could then be ‘gang raped’ in a side room or bedroom by a ‘train’ of numerous boys.”
Below is my correspondence to Mr. Davis of moments ago, together with a sworn declaration from my client. We demand an immediate FBI investigation into the allegations. Under no circumstances should Brett Kavanaugh be confirmed absent a full and complete investigation. pic.twitter.com/QHbHBbbfbE

Swetnick’s disturbing declaration comes at the heels of similar allegations put forth by Christine Blasey Ford and Deborah Ramirez. Ford’s allegations came to light in an explosive Washington Post exposé, in which she accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault when they were in high school. Subsequently, Ramirez’s allegations came to light in a New Yorker piece, where she claimed Kavanaugh exposed himself to her in college. Kavanaugh has denied all allegations. Both Ford and Ramirez have been willing to testify in court.
Given the Anita Hill and Clarence Thomas case in 1991, one would think allegations against a Supreme Court nominee would be taken more seriously. But they haven’t been. Kavanaugh supporters are still bent on discrediting victims.
In an MSNBC clip circulating on Twitter, a woman is shown telling her daughters that men groping women is “no big deal.”

In the clip, MSNBC reporter Katy Tur introduces a clip of a woman from Bozeman, Montana defending Kavanaugh alongside her two daughters. The woman says, “Groping a woman, which is—what is that, at 18? I mean, how many guys you know think that’s no big deal?” She continues, “It’s not a big deal.” Her daughters nod in approval and murmur “yeah” throughout the interview. The woman concludes, “We’re tired of hearing about the Kavanaugh thing because it’s not supported by any facts or evidence whatsoever.”
Hey, girls. Blink twice if you need help and feel trapped by your conservative surroundings.
