18 inspiring tweets celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility

Today is a very important day: Transgender Day of Visibility. Thankfully, the trans community is becoming more accepted by mainstream media and society. But despite this, individuals who identify as trans continue to be targets of appalling violence and discrimination. What’s worse is that this discrimination is systemic: President Trump is currently, yet again, drafting a plan that will aim to ban trans people from military service. It’s unacceptable, and it must stop. Which is just another reason why today is so important.

According to its website, Transgender Day of Visibility’s goal is to “celebrate the accomplishments and victories of transgender & gender non-conforming people while raising awareness of the work that is still needed to save trans lives.” And this year’s theme is fantastic: “Visibility Into Action.” Boom. Yes.

We are proud allies of the trans community. One thing that has made us quite happy this morning is the overwhelming amount of support we have seen celebrating Transgender Day of Visibility on Twitter. Here are some of our favorite tweets.
