This woman transforms into your fave Snapchat lens, makes you believe in magic
Today’s Genius Idea of the Day award goes to YouTube user Getting Pretty for making our multicolored Snapchat dreams come alive.
In a 6-minute long video, the imaginative beauty vlogger named Brittany creates a Halloween look that is seriously hypnotic. Using white eyeliner, blush, versatile (and beautifully colorful) makeup palettes, and a few other additions, she transforms herself into everybody’s favorite Snapchat lens: the big-eyed, rosy-cheeked character who just so happens to be barfing up a rainbow.
Aside from the fact that you can actually put a rainbow on your face (and isn’t that everyone’s goal in life?), this style is SUPER easy. Most importantly, it doesn’t require an actual costume – meaning that it’s perfect for those who prefer to come up with last-minute Halloween ideas.
So that your eyes can resemble an adorable anime character, all you have to do is cover your waterline and bottom lashes with white eyeliner. To emphasize this part of the look, Brittany adds brown shadow beneath the eyeliner. (Note: this may make you feel like you belong in a Hayao Miyazaki film. In other words: you’ll feel awesome.)
Next up, it’s time to add some color to those cheeks. Using your favorite pink blush, generously apply this color to the tops of your cheekbones and to the tip of your nose. And now, for the best part…
Let’s apply a pink lip color to the top lip and get our rainbow on! For this part of the tutorial, Brittany uses Mehron Paradise Palette’s in Tropical, Pastel, and Basic – but this is definitely not a necessary purchase! Instead, you can use face paint or eyeshadow or whatever colorful cosmetics you have on hand.
With a makeup brush, make sure to keep steady as you paint each squiggly line from your bottom lip to the base of your neck. Once all colors are accounted for, you can add little clouds at the bottom and decorate with some white eyeliner starbursts. As you’re doing so, it’s recommended that you use the actual Snapchat lens as a reference.
Take a look for yourself:
Now that you’ve successfully brought this iconic Snapchat lens back into existence (that’s right, Snapchat took it away in favor of other lenses *sad face*), it’s time to 1) take plenty of pictures, 2) show this look off to ALL THE PEOPLE, and 3) get ready to be the talk of the town as you trick-or-treat the night away.
