The trailer for Renée Zellweger and Keanu Reeves’s new movie, “The Whole Truth,” is giving us CHILLS

If you liked Gone Girl and can’t wait for Girl on the Trainthen you’re gonna lose your freaking mind over The Whole Truth, starring Renée Zellweger and Keanu Reeves! This film is not based on a book, but it DEFINITELY has a dark, edge-of-your-seat vibe.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly we’ve got the trailer right here, and as you’ll see it gives a gritty look into the compelling case of a teenage boy named Mike (played by Gabriel Basso from Super 8) who is accused of murdering his father (Jim Belushi).

Zellweger plays Mike’s mom, and Reeves plays his defense attorney. Mike confesses to the crime at first, but something is definitely fishy…is someone covering something up? Who’s telling the truth?! AHHHHHHH.

The Whole Truth is directed by Courtney Hunt in what will be her second feature since Frozen River, and the script was penned by Nicholas Kazan, who wrote Matilda (so much love) and many other films.

We’re also pretty psyched to see Zellweger take on a role that’s SO different from her other big movie this year (even though we love us some Bridget Jones’s Baby), and super excited for Basso to establish himself as a leading man!

With its mysterious premise and stellar cast, all the right pieces are in place — now let’s hope the film delivers the goods!

The Whole Truth opens in mid-October, so we don’t have to wait much longer!
