The trailer for Netflix’s JonBenet documentary will send a major chill down your spine
It’s been a little over 20 years since six-year-old Jonbenet Ramsey was found murdered in her family’s basement just after Christmas Day, but the unsolved disappearance and death have continued to make headlines. Last year, CBS put together a team of forensic scientists and investigators to try and solve the murder.
Now, Netflix is releasing a documentary hybrid about the murder called Casting JonBenet, giving its own account as to what might have happened to JonBenet on that fateful day in 1996. Netflix has just released the trailer for the upcoming documentary, which will be on the streaming website in April.

As the title suggests, the documentary “casts” the main players in the case: JonBenet, her parents, John and Patsy, and her brother, Burke. The actors auditioning for the roles seem retell various theories and speculations about the mysterious murder and from what it looks like, they may even test some theories.
The documentary premiered in January at the Sundance Film Festival, where it has received near universal praise.
The Ramsey family has been very critical of the portrayal of their family in the media and documentaries surrounding the case. After the CBS docuseries The Case Of: JonBenet Ramsey aired, Burke Ramsey, whom the CBS investigative team suggested had killed his sister, filed a $750 million defamation suit against the network.
The JonBenet murder case has long interested the public, so we’re very interested in seeing how this documentary portrays the family and what conclusions it may come to. Casting JonBenet will air on Netflix on April 28th.
