The trailer for ‘The Huntsman: Winter’s War’ just dropped and there are SO many badass ladies, hooray forever

We’ve been excited for the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman ever since the character posters dropped. In addition to having Charlize Theron return to play the Evil Queen and Chris Hemsworth reprise his eponymous role at The Huntsman, we were also introduced to Emily Blunt’s Ice Queen and Jessica Chastains’ warrior.

The first trailer for the film just hit the interwebs and you guys, we THOUGHT we were excited before, but our previous excitement pales in comparison to the deep and real feelings we are having after having watched this two-minute-and-forty-second-tease for the upcoming action fantasy:

The preview starts out with a twist on the classic Snow White line “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” Instead, Emily Blunt (whose Ice Queen is basically like if Frozen’s Elsa went to Tilda Swinton’s scary-Narnia Snow Queen boot camp) stares into the magical reflective surface, and asks “Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the most powerful of them all?”

Do you hear that? It’s the sound of a billion fan girls screaming.

Blunt follows this badass line with another:

“If it’s a fairytale you’re hoping for, prepare yourself for so…much..more…”

Cue more screaming.

So what’s this new Huntsman about? What do the Ice Queen and Warrior have to do with this Snow White-inspired fantasy goth-verse?

As the LA Times reports, the synopsis of the film lays out like this:

“Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya’s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen — including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain) — only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love. When Freya learns of her sister’s demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. But once she discovers Ravenna can be resurrected from its golden depths, the wicked sisters threaten this enchanted land with twice the darkest force it’s ever seen. Now, their amassing army shall prove undefeatable…unless the banished huntsmen who broke their queen’s cardinal rule can fight their way back to one another.”

And, though they didn’t manage to squeeze this into the synopsis, Emily Blunt definitely rides a polar bear in the movie. THAT HAPPENS TOO.

Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who’s the most excited of us all? Trick question, it’s all of us, trailer below, take a peek and get ready for all the badass fantasy ladies to do their thing in April of 2016.
