The trailer for the new Japanese Godzilla is here and it’s epic
We’ve all heard of Godzilla. The legendary story has been remade and reimagined so many times, it’s nearly impossible for someone to live on Earth and not know the legacy of the giant fire-breathing monster.
There have been 30 Godzilla films made throughout the past 60 years. THIRTY!! Most of which were made in Japan.
You might also remember the latest version of Godzilla starring Elizabeth Olsen from 2014.
Well Godzilla is back, except this time the creature’s going back to its Japanese roots.
Produced and distributed by Toho Studios, the limited theatrical event Godzilla Resurgence (Shin Godzilla in Japan)is set to be released in October in the U.S., but it’s already the biggest box office hit of the year in Japan, according to USA Today.
And it makes total sense — the Japanese military is the new hero.
While the iconic theme remains the same, Toho Studios’ return to the franchise involves a much more intimidating and straight up ugly version of Godzilla. This time with a much longer tail and a crazy lipless face.
But still terrifying.
