The first trailer for Bill Nye’s Netflix show will have you shouting BILL BILL BILL!
It’s no secret that we ADORE Bill Nye. His commitment to dispelling myths and promoting science education is makes him 100% awesome in our book. And whether he’s standing up to Internet bullies or doing improv on TV, he’s always hilarious, educational, and undeniably cool. A couple of months ago, we learned that our favorite science nerd was getting his own Netflix show and we cheered for days. Now, the first trailer for the show has dropped, and we’re thrilled.
Bill Nye’s Netflix show is called Bill Nye Saves the World, and the show will focus on the most important issues facing, you guessed it, the world. These will include population control, alternative medicine, and nerdy things aplenty – all of which can be solved through science. Oh, and bow ties – we get the feeling they’re going to talk about bow ties a lot.
In a statement when the show was first announced, Nye said, “Today, I’m excited to be working with Netflix on a new show, where we’ll discuss the complex scientific issues facing us today, with episodes on vaccinations, genetically modified foods and climate change. With the right science and good writing, we’ll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience. And, perhaps we’ll change the world a little.
But that’s not all – Nye won’t be alone in this endeavor. He’ll be joined by a group of correspondents from diverse backgrounds, including model and entrepreneur Karlie Kloss, space exploration advocate Emily Calandrelli, comedian Joanna Hausmann, comedian Nazeem Hussain, and Derek Muller from Veritasium.
With such an interesting group of people lending their voices, backgrounds, and support to the show, we’re definitely curious to see what it will be like. And, TBH, we’re also excited to have Bill Nye telling us about science again, and relive our collective childhood.
