The trailer for Cole Sprouse’s new teen romance is here, and it will 100% make you cry
From A Walk to Remember to The Fault in Our Stars, some of our favorite romances deal with undeniably heavy topics. The latest film in this (heartbreaking) tradition is Cole Sprouse’s new romantic teen drama, Five Feet Apart—and prepare to feel all the feelings, because the trailer is finally here.
IndieWire notes that Justin Baldoni, who plays Rafael Solano on Jane the Virgin, directed the film. Moises Arias (Hannah Montana) and Parminder Nagra (ER) have supporting roles.
Released today, November 2nd, the trailer for Five Feet Apart depicts two teens with cystic fibrosis, Will (Sprouse) and Stella (Columbus star Haley Lu Richardson) who meet while undergoing treatment for the disease. Because their immune systems are threatened by each other’s bacteria, they must stay five feet apart at all times.
"Human touch," Stella says in the beginning of the trailer. "We need that touch from the one we love almost as much as we need air to breathe. I never understood that until I couldn't have it."
But staying apart becomes increasingly difficult as the two fall for one another, putting their lives at risk. The result is a love story to rival that of Hazel Lancaster and Augustus Waters.

In an interview published on October 31st, Sprouse told Teen Vogue that he wanted to make sure his portrayal of living with CF was accurate.
"There are some roles that carry a real responsibility for accurate representation, this was one of them," he said. "Some say the currency of poetry is the acceptance of other poets, and I desire no audience more greatly than those who resonate with the challenges shown by the characters of this film. It's my hope that we did them justice."
Five Feet Apart will hit theaters on March 22nd, 2019. We’re already stocking up on tissues.
