This is the $8 drugstore product Tracee Ellis Ross uses on her fabulous curls

Tracee Ellis Ross can do no wrong in our book. We’ve been rocking with her since she was the adorable neurotic in Girlfriends, to when she stole the show making a cameo in Kanye West’s “Touch the Sky” video, up until today when she keeps us laughing as the mama bear on Black-ish.

Looking at Tracee’s head of curls, you’d think she uses only the finest products. We wouldn’t be surprised if she had the hookup on some top-secret frizz-fighting tropical oils, exclusive artisan butters, and pricey shampoos and conditioners only available to the offspring of disco legends.

Tracee’s stylist Chuck Amos spilled the tea on Tracee’s regimen and we’re happy to report, it’s available to everyone, everywhere. Yep, Chuck and Tracee love drugstore products just as much as we do.

For Tracee’s Met Gala updo, Chuck was inspired by Japanese artist Kenzo Okada’s painting “The Stream.” Chuck created a textured updo on Tracee with blue mini bobby pins to mimic the painting.

While prepping Tracee, Chuck snapped a pic of his tools and we spied a familiar brand. Why hello there, Pantene.

The Hydrating Butter Creme ($7.99) and Intense Hydrating Oil ($7.99) are part of the Pantene Gold Series. It took 11 black scientists over 10 years to create Pantene’s “gold standard in moisture” and the line has been getting praise since its launch.

The sulfate-free Butter Creme promises 72 hours of moisture and the argan-infused oil strengthens and adds shine. The pair sounds like a curly girl’s dream and if they’ve gotten Tracee’s stamp of approval, we’re on board. Shop the full Pantene Gold Series, here.
