We can all learn something about tornadoes from this 5-year-old scientist

There are lots of videos on the internet about science; from tutorials, to explainers, and everything in-between. But one that currently has everybody talking is from a kid named Oliver. He’s a budding scientist who already has his own YouTube channel, and he’s only 5-years-old! No joke. So, are you ready?! Oliver’s latest video is about tornadoes.

It’s pretty perfect actually, because Oliver talks about tornado facts and safety tips, including the different categories of tornadoes, as well as giving a demonstration about how you can make a mini-tornado in a jar! That’s right, you can now create a tornado in the comfort of your own home, thanks to an adorable pre-pubescent scientist.

And it actually seems really doable, all you need is some vinegar, dish soap, water, and food coloring! (Even though we just said that, don’t try this at home unless you’ve seen the video and/or know what you’re doing.) Oliver explains everything so simply and enthusiastically, which is refreshing for a science video — they can often be so packed with information that they’re overwhelming.

One of the YouTube commenters says, “I’d have been satisfied if Oliver was my teacher back in school,” and we tend to agree. Oliver certainly has a bright future ahead of him, not to mention many fans right now who are all well-informed about tornadoes! In addition to science, he seems to be passionate about Hot Wheels, as he’s made several videos about them.

Watch Oliver’s tornado video right here, and prepare to be amazed! We’re betting on this kid being featured on a talk show in the very near future. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=
