6 Top Style Trends You Can Use as Everyday Fitspo
From biker girl to Barbiecore, these looks are trending all over the Internet, according to Google searches.
The start of a new year is a chance to turn over a new leaf, be it with your fitness goals, dietary changes, or even just adopting a new fashion identity. Trends change with the times, and so can you!
A wardrobe refresh is an easy way to give yourself a little mental boost, or so-called “dopamine dressing” — and it’s not too late to turn things around for 2023.
If you’re stuck in a style rut and you don’t know where to start, you can turn to Internet influencers and TikTok trends for some inspiration. Or, you can take a cue from the experts at Boohoo.com who tracked down the top style trends that are being searched for the most on Google right now.
From biker girl chic to Barbiecore, here are 6 top style trends for 2023 that you can reinvent your look and wardrobe with.
1. Biker Girl Chic
The biker trend is essentially mixing nostalgic leather with grunge-style pieces and incorporating them into everyday wear. The trend is often seen when mixing feminine silhouettes with boxy oversized leather pieces, say the experts at Boohoo.
Influencers like Hailey Bieber are often seen stepping out in biker-style outfits, proving just how popular the biker look is and will be this year. But don’t just take Mrs. Bieber’s word for it —searches for “leather pants” are averaging 129,000 times a month in the U.S., while searches for “biker jacket” are seeing a 101 percent increase.
And with biker style especially, it’s all about the boots. Searches for those increased by 165 percent over the past month.

2. Flashy Metallics
If Lizzo and Beyoncé’s looks at the Feb. 5 Grammy Awards gave you any hints, metallics are shining as bright as the stars this year. At the end of last year, we saw the re-introduction of all things metallic, with silver, especially, taking over the Internet and runway.
The style has already become an obsession on social media, especially on TikTok. The hashtag #silveroutfit has surpassed over three million views, and #metallicoutfits also reached an impressive 595,200 views, explains the experts at Boohoo.
And it’s not just all about silver and gold. Shimmery violets, baby blues, and greens have all popped onto the radar recently, which means the high-shine style is totally on-trend.
3. Cowboy Core
“This is your weekly reminder that cowboy core is in for 2023,” says one TikToker. That could be as simple as a bolo or a pair of cowboy boots: Think Beth Dutton on Yellowstone.
Western-style pieces are a great way to inject some fun and sass into your wardrobe; whether it be a pair of statement cowboy boots, a studded suede vest, or an oversized plaid shirt. This trend — which, believe it or not, was influenced by Harry Styles who has a penchant for stately Stetsons— has some giddy up.
“Fans swooned over him at his concerts wearing cowboy hats paired with feather boas, which increased searches for “cowgirl hat” in the U.S to increase 117 percent,” says Boohoo.
4. Cargo Couture
Practicality is essential for some when it comes to styling outfits, which is why the cargo trend is back and bigger than ever.
Cargo pants give the perfect baggy silhouette whilst also providing comfort, and many styles come equipped with deep pockets, which is ideal for those who like to travel light, explain the experts at Boohoo.
Google searches in the U.S. for “cargo pants” are averaging 306,000 times per month. Cargo skirts have also started to pop up on the scene, and searches for those have increased 123% of late.
We heard a lot about this one last year, and with the upcoming Barbie movie this summer, it’s not going anywhere anytime soon. This ultra-girly aesthetic based on Barbie dolls is definitely one for those that love a preppy, bold, and bright outfit.
This trend is mainly focused on bubblegum pink and fuchsia pieces inspired by all things girly, which was a huge trend in the early 2000s, says Boohoo. The trend is not only influencing fashion; we’re seeing it in beauty as well. If you want to jump on the Barbie bandwagon, incorporate some pink into your wardrobe.
6. Playful Professional
If a capsule wardrobe is more suitable for your lifestyle, playful blazers and two-piece suits are a great way to stay classy and fun both in and out of the office this year.
The style has taken over TikTok, with thousands of users showing off their outfits of the day and inspirational style videos showing how to style the playful professional trend, say the experts at Boohoo.
The hashtag #blazeroutfit has surpassed 320.8 million views on the social media platform.
”Try a blazer that’s in alignment with the Pantone color of the year Viva Magenta and the Barbiecore aesthetic we have been seeing and will continue to see this year,” suggests Kelly Helfman, retail trends expert and president of fashion trade shows MAGIC and COTERIE.
