Tom Petty’s daughter shared memories of her dad in these emotional Insta posts
There are many ways to grieve. After the announcement that he was hospitalized, Tom Petty’s daughter shared photos on Instagram that helped us get to know the singer on a more personal level.
On October 2nd, the 66-year-old musician was rushed to the hospital after being found unconscious. He was eventually diagnosed with cardiac arrest, and fought to survive all through Monday. Unfortunately, Petty’s death was confirmed by his manager, Tony Dimitriades.
Aside from being a musician, Petty was a family man — he was the proud father of two daughters, Adria and Annakim Violette, who he had with his first wife Jane Benyo. He also had a 24-year-old stepson.
Violette decided to pay tribute to her father with a few very memorable photos and stories, and we’re so glad she did. To say they’re touching would be an understatement.

Her photos make us feel like we’re part of the family. And just like with all great photos, so many of them have incredible stories behind them. Like, the story behind this magnificent tour jacket.
She also opened up about how her father inspired her musically.
Of course, her words are also heartbreakingly beautiful.
"My father loves music more than anything and always put music first💚it's going to be healing to know I will never go a day without hearing his music💚I love his class honesty and how strange and funny he is💚Tom Petty is an American Icon because his heart has always put human rights first. We are one💚I love you dad your songs are dreams manifested," she wrote.
But this is the photo that’s leaving us absolutely speechless.
We wish nothing but love for Petty’s whole family, including his bandmates. This is a huge loss, and we hope they get the time they need to heal.
