Tom Hanks just confirmed the release date for ‘Toy Story 4’

With the release of not one, but two stellar Disney/Pixar movies in 2015 (Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur) and our first glimpse at Finding Dory, we didn’t think this year could get much better. But lo and behold, Tom Hanks has seen fit to give us even more cause to celebrate.

In an interview with British talk show host Graham Norton, the Forrest Gump star revealed that Toy Story 4 is really real and due to hit theaters in 2018.

“We’re now recording ‘Toy Story 4’, so we’re doing that and it’ll be out in 2018,” said the 59-year-old actor behind Toy Story’s Woody. “It takes a long time. We’re working on it right now. I have a recording session on December 2.”

This isn’t the first time Hanks has discussed the fourth installment in the multi-billion dollar film franchise. In fact, he got in a lot of trouble for talking about the film a few months ago.

“Somebody stuck a microphone in my face one day and said, ‘Is there going to be a ‘Toy Story 4′?’ and I said, ‘Yeah, yeah, I think so,’” he told Norton. “And I got a call from the Disney lawyers the next day who said, ‘You are contractually not allowed to discuss a ‘Toy Story 4′ or it’ll affect the stock market price of the Disney comic stock.’ and I just said, ‘Hey, I’m sorry.’”

With this news confirmed, we now know the full lineup of Disney/Pixar films through 2019, starting with Finding Dory in June 2016 followed by Cars 3 and Coco, a new, original film inspired by Día de los Muertos, in 2017. Then, on June 15, 2018, we’ll have Toy Story 4 followed by — and this is the most exciting one on the list for us — The Incredibles 2 in 2019. Two as-yet-unnamed projects are also scheduled for 2020.

Can we just buy our tickets en masse now?
