Toddler Becomes Prize in Local Toy Claw Machine
Congratulations to those of you who gave up something for lent and successfully made it through these past 40 days and 40 nights. With Easter’s arrival, you likely have a newfound appreciation for those seemingly little vices. If you’re looking for yet another taste of spring renewal, consider doing something meaningful on behalf of Mother Nature because it’s almost Earth Day.
However, if all that spring cleaning has you feeling overwhelmed, perhaps you need to find something that can help you de-stress. Let the “The Week In WHAT?!” get you started!
The Claw Is Our Master!
Those claw machines at the arcade can be rather enticing to people of all ages, but when a child sets his sights on a particular stuffed animal trapped inside that plastic prison, he’ll do anything to free his newfound friend. Sometimes, that requires a touch of creative thinking. Earlier this week, a 3-year-old boy from Lincoln, Nebraska rolled up his sleeves and physically went inside one of the games to claim his treasure. When his mother realized he was missing from their apartment, police searched nearby shops and located the toddler playing inside the machine at the bowling alley across the street. Employees believe he climbed in through the prize shoot. Fortunately, he got stuck otherwise who knows whether cops would have been able to find him. Perhaps one day he’ll recount exactly how he infiltrated the system in his ghostwritten biography, “I Clawed My Way Through.”
When The Moon Hits Your Eye Like a Big Pizza — Cake?
Pizza will never be the same. A Canadian based chain recently asked patrons to vote for a new, outlandish way to serve their pizza. The items are part of Boston Pizza’s “Pizza Game Changers” campaign, which is certainly generating social media buzz for the company. So, what’s in the lead? The fan-favorite appears to be a Pizza Cake, which consists of six layers and is allegedly “great for birthdays, bar mitzvahs, weddings, and even lonely nights watching infomercials.” For those interested in a slightly lighter way to enjoy their “za,” there’s the Pizza Taco. Things are getting loco, eh?

Law & Order: K9 Unit
Watch out, Rin Tin Tin, there’s a new German shepherd on the case. In a recent batch of jury duty notifications, Cumberland County, N.J. officials called upon resident IV Griner, a 5-year-old pup. The county more than likely intended to summon her owner, Barrett Griner IV, but a computer error printed his name incorrectly on the mailing. Thankfully, the adorable mishap made headlines when someone leaked the story on a terribly slow news day at the K9 Gazette. Perhaps as a consolation, there’s space for IV on the PAW Patrol?
And there you have this week in “WHAT?!” Can’t wait to see what’s in store for humanity next!
