Todd Fisher shared how Taylor Lautner has been “an amazing support system” for Billie Lourd since Carrie Fisher died
Losing a parent is never an easy thing to go through, which makes it important to have a support network around you. That’s why it’s heartwarming to hear that Taylor Lautner has been supporting Billie Lourd following the death of her mother, the great Carrie Fisher, last year.
Speaking to E! News, Todd Fisher, Carrie Fisher’s brother and Billie Lourd’s uncle, praised Lautner’s support of his niece as “spectacular.”
Initially, like any protective family member, Fisher said that he was cautious about the Twilight star’s role in Lourd’s life. “She’s had other boyfriends, good boyfriends, but I’m certainly going to give that guy the extra look-over. I don’t give a s–t what his background is,” he said.

Continuing, Fisher explained that he was blown away by the actor’s support after Carrie Fisher died.
"The truth of the matter is, the guy is pretty spectacular. He's a really deep person, and he has supported her amazingly," Fisher said. "He's stepped up and acted like a husband would act. Not that that's what's going on, but it's just an amazing support system for her, and I'm glad he's in her life. That's not easy for me to say, if you think about it!"
Fisher also spoke about how, after both Carrie and his mother Debbie Reynolds died, he uncovered a whole heap of love letters and correspondences between mother and daughter.
“I have all her writings and her love letters,” he revealed. “She wrote letters to Carrie and me that were supposed to be taken out of the safety deposit box on her passing. Those letters are beautiful and deep. I will [pass them on to Billie]. She and I are the last of the Mohicans, so to speak, so we’ve been exchanging a lot of things like that.”
We’re glad to hear that, during this time, Billie has someone like Taylor in her life. We can only imagine how hard it must be, and we’re sending her and Todd all our love and thoughts.
